Littler Hosts the 2009 Global Employer Institute

25 September 2009
On 24-25 Sep 2009 Littler hosted the second annual Global Employer Institute in Washington D.C. The conference brought together Littler shareholders and a select group of employment law attorneys from around the world to discuss and share their knowledge and experience of some of the most pressing employment law issues faced by employers today.

TransAsia's senior partner and head of its employment law practice, Dr. Isabelle Wan and managing partner Mr. Jesse T H Chang were invited to share their opinions from a Chinese legal perspective. Dr. Wan first addressed attendees on China's new Employment Contract Law (ECL), the Implementing Regulations for the ECL and Shangha's unique local rules; as well as the influence that these 3 sets of regulations have on multinational companies operating in China. Dr. Wan also elaborated on the enforcement of the new laws and regulations through the aid of notable case studies.

Mr. Chang delivered a presentation on the implications of the recent increase in Chinese investment abroad and its effect on the global market.
