TransAsia Co-Sponsors Conference on Chinese Foreign Investment in the US

Beijing: TransAsia, along with the China Industrial Overseas Development & Planning Association (an affiliate institution of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Covington & Burling, Booz Allen Hamilton, IBM and Citigroup, co-sponsored a conference on Chinese foreign investment in the US.

This high-level conference, which was organized to inform Chinese executives of the various regulatory and political issues involved in investing in the US, was attended by Zhang Xiaoqiang, the Vice Minister of the NDRC, and Ambassador Clark T. Randt, the US Ambassador to China, both of whom gave keynote addresses. More than 50 senior executives from leading Chinese companies attended the conference, along with representatives from the PRC and US governments.

The conference was split into various sessions, including:

  • Preparing to invest in the US
  • Introduction of relevant businesses conducted by Chinese institutions and companies
  • Investment strategies in the US
  • Sensitive issues relating to certain industry sectors
