About Brendon

Brendon’s practice focuses on M&A, real estate, corporate restructuring, market entry, joint ventures and general corporate matters. He also has extensive experience in advising Chinese clients on their offshore financing projects, particularly in the technology/media/telecom and education sectors.

Brendon is a valuable member of TransAsia's Corporate & Commercial team, where he is involved in drafting and negotiating transaction documents, as well as designing deal structures and handling establishment and post-establishment issues for corporate entities in the PRC.

Recent Projects

• Advised a multinational venture capital on its investment in an online advertising company
• Advised Xinyuan Real Estate (NYSE: XIN, the first Asian real estate company listed in the U.S.) on its 4 rounds of pre-IPO financing totaling US$ 175 million, its 2007 IPO on the NYSE and provide ongoing assistance with its onshore acquisitions and project financing   
• Represented a U.S. private equity fund in its investment in a commercial real estate group
• Served as counsel to a U.S. Internet company in the spin-off of its business and assets, and the securitization and subsequent re-investment of a related special purpose vehicle
• Served as counsel for China Cablecom on its cooperation with various Chinese partners to establish a joint venture and undertake an IPO, which created a new model for cooperation with Chinese television  stations in the cable television industry
