About Elaine Huang

Elaine assists multinational clients on a wide range of issues relating to their investments in China, including the establishment of corporate vehicles, M&A, corporate restructuring, and operational matters.

Prior to joining TransAsia, Elaine served as in-house counsel to the Shanghai subsidiary of a leading medical device manufacturer/distributor. She has also worked for an international pharmaceutical company and an international assets management center as the in-house counsel in Shanghai.

Recent Projects

• Represented II-VI Incorporated (leading producer of laser optics) in its US$ 100 million acquisition of Photop Technologies
• Advised on the establishment of a RMB VC fund in Shanghai
• Advised Ingram Micro on the restructuring of its China operations and local distribution issues
• Advised Sperian Protection and Tyco International on various equity and asset acquisitions, including the acquisition of state-owned enterprises
• Assisted Tyco International on purchasing minority interests in a personal protective equipment manufacturer in Shanghai
• Advised Tiger Global on its investment in a group of international schools
• Assisted DFS with its online operations in China
• Advised TVSN on its cooperation with various local partners for TV advertising
• Advised S2F, a leading Australian construction design firm, on its daily operation matters in China
