About Fu Jianping

Mr. Fu has engaged himself in legal service for over 10 years and has handled hundreds of criminal cases so far, accumulating a great amount of practical experience. As a senior criminal defense lawyer, Mr. Fu adheres to the philosophy “showing loyalty to clients upon being entrusted”. He has successfully handled lots of economic crime and duty crime cases. The most typical ones are given as follows: in the bribery case against Wu, the defendant was exempted from criminal punishment; the 5-year imprisonment sentence of Chen, who was accused of loan fraud, at the trial of first instance was commuted to suspended sentence at the second trial; the 6-year imprisonment sentence of Feng, a criminal of duty encroachment offence, at the trial of first instance was commuted to 2-year sentence at the second trial; Yang’s rape case was remanded for retrial by the court of second instance and finally Yang’s 14-year imprisonment sentence was commuted to 4-year imprisonment; Wang, who was charge with intentional homicide, was sentenced to life imprisonment at the trial of first instance and was remanded for retrial by court of second instance; and Zhang, who was accused of intentional injury, was acquitted at the trial of first instance and the original judgment was affirmed at the second trial. Additionally, defendants of more cases were given lighter sentence or even acquitted because of Mr. Fu’s powerful defense. Many of his cases have aroused great concern of media and the society. His story has also been reported by many programs such as “Court Hearing Documentaries” and “Morals and Law” of Shanghai Television Station.

Mr. Fu focuses on the combination of theory and practice. He has published lots of articles on People’s Court Daily, Shanghai Lawyer, HuaDong Criminal Justice Review and other newspaper and journals.

Mr. Fu has also been invited by Shanghai Municipal Police Force Frontier Corps or its detachment, “Oriental Lawyer” program as well as other units to deliver lectures. In 2007, Mr. Fu was entitled as “Advanced Individual of Shanghai Judicial Administrative System” by Shanghai Pudong New Area Judicial Bureau and in 2009 he was awarded “Top Ten Excellent Young Lawyer” by the same organ.
