About Yon Tzan
Yon Tzan is a senior member of the firm’s M&A and Private Equity & Venture Capital teams. He specializes in M&A, corporate restructuring and market entry in the IT and telecom sectors.
Prior to joining TransAsia, Yon Tzan was an associate in the commercial and corporate department of one of the oldest and largest law firms in Malaysia.
Recent Projects
- Advised Youku.com (a major PRC video sharing site) on multiple financing rounds, debt financing and general corporate matters
- Represented Qunar.com (the largest online travel search operator in China) in several rounds of investment, and on the establishment of its employee stock option scheme
- Served as counsel to a leading U.S. Internet company for the spin-off of its business and assets, and the subsequent securitization and re-investment of a related special purpose vehicle
- Advised Bertelsmann on its PRC investment projects, including the restructuring of its PRC operations and divestment of its interest in an education joint venture
- Served as counsel to Nokia on the establishment of a joint venture with New Alliance (part of Shanghai Alliance Investment Ltd.) in the mobile services sector
- Represented the angel fund Taishan Invest AG, in its investment in Qoolu Networks Inc (leading on-line interactive community design & operating company)
