About Karen

Karen works with the Media & Entertainment and Corporate & Commercial practice groups. She routinely assists clients, especially those in the media and entertainment sector, to draft and negotiate transaction documents, and handle compliance issues. She also routinely advises on matters relating to the establishment and ongoing operations of PRC corporate entities.

Karen reserves a portion of her time for our Employment practice, where she assists in the preparation of employment-related documents related to large-scale conferences and public events.

Prior to joining TransAsia, Karen worked for a Canadian consulting company advising on Canadian immigration law, and for a Swiss consulting company coordinating foreign investment and recruitment in the manufacturing industry. She was also a member of the Shanghai World Expo 2010 legal department.

Recent Projects

• Assisted in advising Disney Studios on intellectual property protection, compliance and documentation for a Sino-foreign film co-production
• Participated in advising the Australian Pavilion of the Shanghai Expo on employment-related matters
• Assisted a wireless device company, with its sponsorship agreement with the Shanghai Expo Bureau
• Helped prepare advice for a multinational nutritional products company in connection with its China market entry structure and local operations
• Assisted in advising the China Film Group on revising its co-production agreements and distribution agreement
