About Kenneth
Kenneth specializes in real estate law and foreign direct investment in China. He has extensive experience in advising on real estate and infrastructure financing and investment as well as the establishment, development, operation, management, lease and sale of large-scale real estate and infrastructure projects.
Kenneth has represented many foreign fund investors, industry investors, operators and developers in their real estate projects and transactions in China, including clients such as Tesco, Everbright ALAM, Avenue, MGPA, Standard Chartered, Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, GS, Mulia, Thuvas, Oaktree and Pacific Star.
Recent Projects
- Advised Tesco, one of the world's largest retailers, on leasing and acquiring suitable properties, dispute resolution with landlords, establishing property service companies and obtaining property service qualifications in Beijing, Qingdao, Anshan, Fushun and other PRC cities
- Acted as PRC counsel for Avenue in its investment into the largest real estate brokerage franchisor in China and its recent subscription with other co-investors of US$ 200 million secured exchangeable bonds issued by Palm Springs Holdings
- Advised Standard Chartered with its financing of an asset pool consisting of commercial properties in 9 cities in China
- Advised Everbright ALAM in its joint venture with Raycom to develop and operate a mall in Chongqing
- Assisted Merrill Lynch with its acquisitions of a residential development project in Shanghai, an office development project in Tianjin, a retail and hotel project in Beijing, as well as comprehensive projects in Guangzhou, and financing of a project in Hunan
- Advised Citigroup on its acquisition of Xihuan Plaza in Beijing
- Assisted an Indonesia investor with its acquisition of 2 toll road projects in Beijing and Inner-Mongolia and a Singapore fund investor in its acquisition of 5 toll road projects around China
