About Patrick
A senior member of TransAsia's Employment team, Patrick is routinely involved in advising on and drafting human resources policies, termination agreements and other legal documents. He regularly advises on the performance, termination and renewal of employment contracts, as well as the arbitration and litigation of labor disputes. Patrick also assists in setting up, and negotiating with, trade union committees and employee representative congresses, as well as handling other matters involving negotiation of collective contracts and collective bargaining.
Prior to joining TransAsia, Patrick was with a leading international law firm where he worked on employment-related matters and general corporate issues for various multinationals. Patrick is an experienced labor dispute arbitrator and previously also worked for the Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.
Recent Projects
- Successfully assisted a global technology company on the termination of a senior manager for employee misconduct and breach of the company's Code of Conduct
- Assisted a consumer goods company in negotiations with its grass-roots trade union on the adoption of an employee handbook and adjustment of employee benefits
- Advised a well-known mining multinational with its cross-border employment arrangements
- Successfully assisted a well-known manufacturing multinational to handle employment issues concerning 2,000 employees as a result of its restructuring
- Represented a multinational in arbitration and litigation with regard to wrongful termination and back-payment issues
