About Ronald
Ronald is a corporate lawyer and a senior member of the firm’s M&A and Private Equity & Venture Capital practice groups. Working across the IT and telecoms, advertising, clean and renewable energy and new media sectors, Ronald specializes in growth equity investments, the formation of private equity funds and other strategic investments and acquisitions.
Ronald has extensive experience advising on private equity or venture capital investment, market entry, corporate re-organization and restructuring, and general legal compliance issues. He represents both domestic and international clients. Over the past few years, Ronald has also been developing a focus on crisis management, particularly for clients in highly regulated industries.
Recent Projects
- Served as counsel to a media multinational for its acquisition of a Hong Kong advertising company and subsequent corporate restructuring
- Represented a leading low-carbon technology company in its partnership with a state-owned conglomerate for the formation of a foreign-invested venture capital enterprise targeting low carbon and new energy technology projects in China
- Advised a U.S. private equity fund on its Series B investment in a leading narrow-cast media company
- Represented an international private equity fund in its investment in a company developing advanced technologies for the exploration and production of natural gas
- Advised a U.S. investor on its partnership with a state-owned conglomerate to set up a national retail store chain
- Assisted the world's largest content delivery network company in its strategic acquisition of an IDC/CDN related business in China and with its subsequent partnership with Chinese entities
- Advised Alibaba.com on its US$ 1 billion investment by Yahoo!
- Represented a U.S. Internet company in its acquisition of assets from a Chinese operator of directory and navigation websites
