2010 Chinese Overseas Investment Fair

02 September 2010

The second China Overseas Investment Fair (http://www.coifair.org/2010/index_en.asp) will be held in Beijing on 2nd and 3rd November this year.  It is being organized by the China Industrial Overseas Development and Planning Association (Association) under the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC, the ministry responsible for approving outbound and inbound investments).

  1. General Background

    The Fair aims to promote overseas investment by PRC entities and to provide a platform for officials, investors and professionals to network on topics of interest.  It is the largest event of its kind in China:  last year it attracted more than 5,000 attendees.  Over 1,000 SOEs and government agencies have been invited or have registered to attend so far; they are listed at http://www.coifair.org/aboutus_8_en.asp.

    There are 3 components to the Fair:

    • a general exhibition;
    • fora arranged by the Association on common topics of interest relating to outbound investment; and
    • seminars organized by select entities, focusing on investments in countries overseas.

    For a full agenda, please visit http://www.coifair.org/2010/aboutus_7_en.asp.
